All the Indian celebrities who had died in 2022 :

It is matter of great sadness that we are losing great Indians day by day. No one can replace them at their own field. They were the stars of India who had shined the name of the India. They represented India in the platform of the India by there art of works in various fields. Below I have mentioned few of them. I am extremely sorry if I have missed few of them –

1. Chinu Shikari (Choreographer)

DOB: Unknown

DOD: 04 January, 2022

He was a renowned Indian choreographer ( specially in south Indian movies).He had worked in few Hindi movies also.

Chinu Shikari is well known for Aapran Malak Na Maayalu Maanvi(1998) ,Beni Hutho Bar Bar Varse Aaviyo(1998) and Dholo Mara Malak No(1998).

He had worked as choreographer in two Hindi movies-

Chambal Ka Badshah and Kabeela
He was also in the item dancer (co- star was Helen) in R D Barman’s ‘Piya tu ab toh aaja’ song.

2. Rekha Kamat (Actress)

DOB: 1932.
DOD: 11 January 2022.
She lived in Mumbai.She was famous for acting in different Marathi movies.She debuted her carrier in 1952.She had worked for few Hindi movies also.Few of those –

3. Ibrahim Ashk (Lyricist)

DOB: 20 July 1951.
DOD: 16 January 2022.
He was a great  journalist, poet and film writer. He worked  with the Daily Indore Samachar, Shama and Shushma magazines, and with Sarita, a Hindi magazine.
Ashk had wrote the lyrics for a few songs used in Bollywood movies, such as-
“Kaho Naa Pyar Hai”,
“Koi Mil Gaya”,
“Janasheen”, “Eitbaar”,
“Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage”,
“Krrish”,
“Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche”, and
“Dhund”
He died at the age of 70 due to some complications in covid-19.

4. Pt. Birju Maharaj (Choreographer)

DOB: 04 February 1938.
DOD: 17 January 2022.
He was a renowned Kathak dancer, he also had great knowledge of Hindustani classical music and percussion instruments. He could able to sing the thumri while dancing to it, and also can play instruments like the tabla and the dholak
Birju had choreographed in few great movies of all times. Few of them-
1. Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj ke Khiladi (1977),
2.  Madhuri Dixit in Dil To Pagal Hai (1997)
3. Devdas (2002),
4. Kamal Haasan in Vishwaroopam (2012),
5. Deepika Padukone in Bajirao Mastani (2015) and
6. Alia Bhatt in Kalank (2019). He won the National Film Award for Best Choreography in 2012, for Vishwaroopam and won Filmfare Award for Best Choreography in 2016 for Bajirao Mastani.
Maharaj got Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, at 28. He got Padma Vibhushan, in 1986.

5. Rasheed Naz (Actor)

DOB: 09 September 1948.
DOD: 17 January 2022.
He started his television career in 1971. He had acted in Urdu movies as well as in few Hindi movies.
Raheed Naz acted in the Bollywood film Baby in 2015 alongside Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, and Madhurima Tuli.
He died at the age of 73 due to some health issues.

6. Arun Verma (Actor)

DOB: 1959.
DOD: 20 January 2022.
He was an actor, comedian, and poet . Arun had acted in more than 80 Bollywood movies. He acted in many superhits like DacaitKhalnayakPrem GranthChalte ChalteKhakeeMujhse Shaadi KarogiJolly LLBKickFukrey & Heropanti, etc.
He died in a hospital in Bhopal due to kidney failure.

7. Amitabh Dayal (Actor)

DOB: 1970.
DOD: 02 Feb 2022.
Amitabh Dayal has worked in  Virrudh (2005)- starred by Amitabh Bachchan, Om Puri’s Kagaar: Life on the Edge (2003) Rangdari (2012) and Dhuaan (2013).

He had passed away by a massive heart attack.

 

8. Ramesh Deo (Actor)

DOB: 30 January 1929.

DOD: 02 February 2022.

He had worked in more than 280 Hindi films, 185 Marathi films and 25 Marathi dramas with over 200 showings in his vast career.

He was married to Seema Deo, formerly known as Nalini Saraf. His sons are Marathi actors. He died from a heart attack at the age of 96.

 

9. Lata Mangeshkar (Playback Singer)

DOB: 28 Sept 1929.

DOD: 06 Feb 2022.

Every Indian know this name for sure. The most soulful Indian female playback singer of all time. She gained the titles like “Queen of Melody”, “Nightingale of India”, and “Voice of the Millennium” for her contribution in Indian Music Industry.

She recorded songs over 30 Indian languages and few foreign languages also though most of the songs in Hindi, Marathi and Bengali languages.She had recorded –

Hindi film songs – >5300

non-film songs – >190,

unpublished songs – >120,

Marathi songs – >400,

Bengali songs- >200,

Sanskrit songs- >20,

Gujarati songs – > 40,

Punjabi songs – >70,

The total number of these songs is said to be over than 6500.

Lata  is the most recorded artist in history. She had reportedly recorded “more than 25,000 solo, duet and chorus backed songs ” between 1948 and 1974.

On 8 January 2022, Lata Mangeshkar tested positive for COVID-19 . The doctors released her on 28 January. She was back on the ventilator on 5 February, after her health deteriorated. She died from multiple organ failure on 6 February 2022, at the age of 92.

 

10. Praveen Kumar Sobti (Actor)

DOB: 06 December 1947.

DOD: 07 February 2022.

He died from a heart attack in New Delhi, at the age of 74.

 

11. Ravi Tandon (Producer, Director)

DOB: 17 February 1935.

DOD: 11 February 2022.

Tandon gave us a number of hit movies, the most popular among them are –

Khel Khel MeinAnhoneeNazranaMajboorKhud-daarZindagi.

Ravi Tandon died due to respiratory failure at his residence in Mumbai at  86.

 

12. Sandhya Mukherjee (Playback Singer)

DOB: 04 October 1931.

DOD: 15 February 2022.

She refused Padma Shri in 2022.

She died by a massive cardiac attack at a private hospital in Kolkata at 90.

 

13. Bappi Lahiri (Music Director & Playback Singer)

DOB: 27 November 1952.

DOD: 15 February 2022.

He was an Indian singer, rock-star, composer and record producer and a dubbing artist. He mainly introduced the use of synthesised disco music in Indian music industry and sang few of his own compositions.

The rockstar died of obstructive sleep apnea in Mumbai, at the age of 69.

 

14. J. P. Chowksey (Producer, Screenwriter)

DOB: 1st Sept 1939.

DOD: 2nd March 2022.

Jay Prakash Chowksey, who was best known as a notable movie writer and a film journalist.

He wrote the screenplay of many movies.Few of those-

Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, Border, Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Maachis, Qatl, Bodyguard , etc.

As per reports, He was suffering from cancer a couple of years ago but recovered from the same. Whatever, he was not able to completely beat this unbeatable disease re-emerged again and left us at the age of 83.

 

15. Vatsala Deshmukh (Actress)

DOB: 1930.

DOD: 12 March 2022.

She was an Indian Marathi and Hindi actress. She made her debut on screen with the Hindi movie “Toofan and Deeya”, directed by Prabhat Kumar. Vatsala gave us many hit movies with a strong side character.

She died  at the age of 92 due to age related health complications.

 

16. MC Tod Fod (Rapper)

DOB: Unknown.

DOD: 21 March 2022.

His real name was Dharmesh Parmar, popularly known as MC Tod Fod, died very earlier. MC Tod Fod rapped for the Gully Boy track (starred by Ranveer Singh).

He had 2 Heart Attacks in 4 Months and could not survive.He died at the age of 24.

 

17. Abhishek Chatterjee (Actor)

DOB: 30 April 1964.

DOD: 24 March 2022.

He was an Indian actor who was known for his work in Bengali cinema. He made his debut alongside veterans such as Sandhya Roy, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Tapas Paul, and Utpal Dutt with the Bengali film Pathbhola (1986) directed by Tarun Majumdar. Abhisek was chocolate hero of Bengal but he was one of the underrated actor of Bengal.As per source,His career was disturbed due to dirty politics of Tollywood. He had acted in over than 100 movies.

He died on from a heart attack, in Kolkata, India at the age of 58.
